Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Creating Group News from admin account

Hi,

Creating new group news from admin account. I tried to upoad an image, that may or may not work. The image itself is not showing in the template, but it does say "image preview" normally when those words appear the image is shown. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Comments

Hi,

I do not know what the difference is between replying and replying and entering a comment (how can you reply without entering a comment, when the latter is compulsory?), so I am doing the only thing I think I can. I am in Admin, Firefox, replying to Anja's comment on Dee's post. I have some notes on what Anja said:
* Now I understand that you can add an image, but it won't be visible in the email, only when the reader goes to the link to view the post online.
* I do not see the "send and approve" option (I only see "save" and "preview"); you likely have a different level of permission than I do, Anja.

Other notes:
* The test message I sent through from my Test account yesterday afternoon never seems to have come in (was never approved? or I never received it?).
* In trying to find that message (in vain), I looked in my Gmail "Promotions" folder, where I happened to find some emails from Dee related to this test. They were in that Gmail folder (automatically) along with advertisements for online shopping offers, etc. - not Spam but sort of distinguished by Gmail as advertising. I also found in there some emails from Chris related to the test. This might happen to others in our network who use Gmail - Dee (if you check your Gmail account) or Julie, did this happen to you? I never ever look in my Promotions folder, so I would not have seen them. (I will look there more often now!)
