Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

TRYING AGAIN AS USER AND AUTHOR WERE MIXED UP - FINDERS CROSSED

TESTING TO SEE WHAT MESSAGE IS SENT WHEN I EDIT AS ADMIN (WARREN FEEK) A GROUP NEWS INITIALLY SUBMITTED BY SOMEONE ELSE (IN THIS CASE WARREN TARANAKI)

Hi folks - we have been lots of tweaking of the Networks process through Organic Groups. Please do each task in both your admin and normal user (test) accounts. Please report and comment on all errors through this Group.

1. Create a new Group News

2. Comment on a Group News

3. Comment on a comment

4. Click Reply and enter a comment.

5. Edit one of your own posts.

Thanks - Warren

I'm confused by some of the choices on the template for creating Group News - why have the coding choices and why have the publish and promote to front page boxes checked or even availalbe? I'm not clear on the inner workings and on privacy issues - do we want publication of these groups?
