Society of Professional Journalists eCampus

To support the development of quality journalism, the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) has developed a set of online training resources available to their membership. Within the Training section of the SPJ website, a variety of tools and training topics are available to users.
Included among the links are upcoming conference and events lists, information on in-person training opportunities, online tips and tutorials, links to research sources, and skills training. For example, SPJ On Demand sessions are available to all SPJ members at any time, included as part of SPJ membership, and provide video training on these topics:
- Freelancing - creating opportunities and making business decisions
- Acquiring records - how to access public records, understanding Freedom of Information Act (FOI) laws, and how to approach making requests for information
- Video techniques and using social media to connect with audiences
- Using search engines, blogs, video, and social media to collect and sort information effectively and efficiently
SPJ membership is required to access parts of the training resources, such as SPJ On Demand sessions.
The website also includes a link to the organisation's sign-up area. Click here to be directed to that page.
