Knowledge Management for Health and Development Toolkit

"Knowledge management (KM) is an umbrella term encompassing the many unique but related facets of creating, organizing, sharing, and using information and experiences."
From the K4Health Toolkits website, this resource offers definitions of KM, explains its use in various disciplines, and offers resources and tools "for those working in international public health and development; materials come from health and development organizations or are applicable to the field and can be easily adapted."
The importance of raw data is recognised, but the focus is on "information products that support directly the transfer of useful knowledge", or sharing knowledge about "what works, why it works, and how others can replicate it."
The case studies section, for example, has titles that include the following, amongst others:
- Creating Technical Assistance Libraries to Capture Tacit Knowledge
- Supporting Communities to Encourage South-to-South Knowledge Sharing and Product Improvement (KM Case Study)
- Using Knowledge Management to Maximize the Impact of a Film (KM Case Study)
