Knowledge Shifts
The number of women who remembered that edema was a danger sign during pregnancy rose from 2% to 64% (previously traditional beliefs dictated that edema was a positive sign of an easy birth).
Practices
An increase was seen in attendance at prenatal clinics from 17% to 100% over two years. Women who recognized danger signs during pregnancy rose from 26% to 43%.
Access
The percent of women who had heard or seen a message relating to prenatal care rose from 42% to 71%. The percent of women hearing or seeing messages relating to danger signs during pregnancy rose from 24 to 57%.
