Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

IAWRT Radio and TV Awards 2007

The International Association of Women in Radio
and Television (IAWRT) is an international organisation of women in broadcasting and electronic media production and management. The IAWRT Awardds 2007 is calling for entries of radio or television documentaries made by women and about women. The competition is open to all women producers/journalists/directors making radio and television (TV) programmes.



The prize this year is NOK5000 (value in Norwegian krone to be paid in US$) for the winners of the awards.
This year’s awards will be presented at the IAWRT conference in Nairobi, Kenya, from September 29 to October 3 2007.



All entries must have dates of airing between October 1 2005 and September 1 2007. Length must not exceed 60 minutes. Submissions require an entry form with confirmation of the transmission date and channel, the entry fee, and a CD or DVD, as well as either English translations, subtitles, or voice-overs of the submission, if it is in a language other than English.


The deadline for application is September 1 2007.
