Convention on the Rights of the Child Video Contest
On the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Voices of Youth (VOY), invites young people to make and enter a video showing what child rights mean to them. Videos must be one minute in length. They will be reviewed by a global panel of media professionals and youth and displayed on the main UNICEF website. The winning video will be used in the CRC’s 20th anniversary celebration and made available for broadcast around the world for the 2010 International Children’s Day of Broadcasting.
The following are criteria for entering:
- Videos in all languages are welcome; however, for videos not in English, please provide an English language transcript of the script or summary.
- Participants must be under 25 years of age.
- Submissions can be either by an individual or a group, and can be sponsored by an organisation or corporation.
- Each individual or group is limited to one submission.
- All videos should be free of copyright materials.

The following are directions for submitting:
- Each video should be uploaded to one of the following video sharing sites: YouTube, Blip.tv, Dailymotion, Veoh.
- Once the video is uploaded to one of the above sites, send an email to unicef.crc.videocontest@gmail.com with the following information: Name; Age; Link to movie upload; Title of movie; Postal address (with country); Email address (if available); Telephone number.
- Those without access to one of the sites above can mail the video as an .mov file on a CD/DVD via regular mail to the address in the contact information below.
- Short -listed entries will be notified by September 10 2009.
- Short-listed entries will be asked to submit master copies of broadcast quality via surface/air mail on a DVcam tape.
